‘TRINO’ package Daytrips for people that like bird watching
TRINO Since a few years Castile & Leon is promoting, by means of the TRINO project, its special birdlife also on the foreign market. The project concentrates on the combination of ornithology and rural tourism. From extended plateaus in the interior as far as the highest peaks of the surrounding mountain ranges, the diversity of landscapes is the habitat of a very rich and divers avifauna. C&L has got 361 kinds of birds of which 218 also brood here.
Bird watching in Soria Walking and bird watching are activities that go together well. During a daytrip in a special area, in which you will walk for hours in peace and quiet, there is a big chance to really spot some special birds. This offer consists of two guided walking daytrips in the beautiful sceneries of Soria Province, excellently suitable to spot birds.
In Cubo de la Solana we will take you through the Mediterranean wood en we will walk alongside the Duero River. The Duero is the biotope for many (water)birds as: Mallard, Moorhen, Grey Heron, Pied Wagtail, Marsh Harrier, etc. In the wood we may spot other birds like: Eurasian Jay, Azure-winged Magpie and the colourful European Bee-eater. After the daytrip you can visit the nearby birds’ observation post with sight on an interesting part of the Duero River.
Near Marazovel, in the middle of the plateau of the ‘Altas de Barahona’ we will walk our second daytrip. This is the habitat of a.o.t. the Hoopoe, Crag Martin, Black-bellied Sandgrouse, Blue Rock Thrush, and Wheatears. And, if we are lucky we might spot the famous Dupont’s Lark or a Great Bustard.
The level of the daytrips is light to average: Cubo de la Solana: 13 km, around 5 hours. Marazovel: 11 km, around 4 hours. (The walking time is without the pauses.)
Our daytrip season is open from the 1st of April till the 31st of October. However, the months April, May and June are the best periods to come over and spot birds.

Price for the ‘TRINO’ package: two guided walking daytrips For 2 to 6 persons € 60,00 p.p. For 7 to 10 persons € 54,00 p.p. (Special price for kids till the age of ten.)
